Behavioral Health Services
Did you know depression affects women much more often than men? With all that women need to balance sometime some extra help and support may be needed to cope. Presence Saint Joseph Behavioral Health Unit treats patients experiencing depression, anxiety symptoms or other severe more chronic mental illnesses. Other issues such as chemical dependency, grief, stress, and panic disorders are also addressed. Patients treated in our programs may be experiencing difficulty adjusting to day to day living. These patients learn and practice alternative behaviors in preparation for their return home to daily life.
Our Treatment Programs:
Our programs are structured with therapy sessions and activities scheduled throughout the day and evening. Treatment consists of individual, group, family and activity therapy as well as chemical dependency counseling when necessary. Family involvement in each patient's therapy is strongly encouraged.
Group therapy is scheduled throughout the day and topics include: communication, stress management, assertiveness training, coping skills, medication management, social skills and cognitive behavioral therapy, among others. Patients also have the opportunity to participate in psychodrama therapy group. During this group, patients revisit traumatic events in their lives through role plays in order to begin the healing process.
