Many Hands, One Mission At Provena Health, it takes all of us, and
each of our diverse gifts, to fulfill the promise that is our mission: to
build communities of healing and hope by compassionately responding to
human need in the spirit of Jesus Christ. Each of the 10,684 members
of the Provena family is an integral piece to the puzzle-- our "many
hands" join together to ensure our "one mission" comes alive in the
communities we are privileged to serve.
Why We Value
Advocacy Advocacy is deeply rooted in our Catholic
identity. Like Jesus, we are called to be a voice for the voiceless,
to attend to the poor and the vulnerable in our communities and to work
for economic, political and social conditions that support all
individuals. This advocacy role is as integral to our mission as our
healthcare services.
To truly "live our mission" we must speak out on public
policy issues that impact the communities we serve. Ensuring
adequate funding for Medicare and Medicaid, health education,
long-term care, and many other important community health efforts, as
well as advocating on behalf of the growing number of uninsured in our
country, continue to be a major focus for our advocacy efforts.
We work hard to develop relationships with our lawmakers to ensure they
not only understand the enormous importance of these programs and issues
for their communities, but also to support them in the policy-making
process. |
