WE ARE Healing and Hope
Living with mental illness or caring for someone who has behavioral health challenges can be daunting and often confusing.
To further complicate an already stressful situation, it has become increasingly difficult in recent years to locate behavioral health resources at both the State and Federal level.
That's where Provena Health fills the gap in providing critical inpatient and outpatient services to aid these vulnerable children and adults on their personal paths to wellness.
We do it despite dwindling reimbursement because our Mission and our genuine concern for each individual call us to do so.
"It's so important not only to offer behavioral health services to our community, but also to offer them close to home so that vulnerable individuals can have easy access to care and so families can be involved in therapy, which is so critical to our patients' recovery," said Jane Mitchell, director of nursing at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. "Provena's commitment to providing behavioral health services, especially during a down economy when people need them most, is truly an example of our Mission in action."
Across Provena, comprehensive services are specialized to each person and treatment covers life's emotional, behavioral and cognitive challenges. Our highly trained and experienced psychiatrists, social workers, nurses and counselors have a unique understanding of how to help each patient, whether it is managing childhood pressures, making responsible adolescent decisions, accepting adult commitments or adjusting to the later years.
In 2010, Provena Health ministries provided 39,637 days of care for individuals seeking critical behavioral health treatment, equipping these individuals with tools and support to help them handle life's challenges more effectively.
