Vision for Catholic Healthcare |
 |
Each life is a tapestry with threads too countless to measure. Each community is a tapestry of interwoven lives. Some threads connect individual memories with moments. Others knit us closely together in relationships. At each of our Provena Health ministries, we do more than mend the threads damaged by illness or infirmity; we do whatever it takes to restore the total picture of the tapestry.
We recognize restoring that picture requires playing an active role in creating a health care system that works for all it is meant to serve. That's why Provena Health supports the Catholic Health Association's vision for U.S. healthcare, which holds that care should:
- be available and accessible to everyone; pay special attention to the poor and vulnerable;
- be health and prevention oriented, with the goal of enhancing the health status of communities;
- be sufficiently and fairly financed; be transparent and consensus-driven in allocation of resources, and organized for cost-effective care and administration;
- be patient-centered and designed to address health needs at all stages of life, from conception to natural death;
- and be safe, effective and designed to deliver the greatest possible quality.*
Using faith, compassion and the latest medical technology, Provena Health ministries strive to achieve all of this by bringing healing and hope to body, mind and spirit - to each life and to each of our communities. Transforming communities ... one life at a time.
