"By investing in our ministries, we demonstrate a lasting commitment to our patients and residents to provide them with the very best care and services now and in the future."
Dr. Jincy Joseph, family practice physician with Provena Medical Group, always knew hers was a special calling. Growing up in Chicago, she watched as her father, a pastor, extended his service to others by simultaneously overseeing operations for an orphanage in India. Dr. Joseph wanted to be like him, but knew the mission she was meant to serve would be in the medical field.
"As a family practice physician, I have the opportunity to provide front-line care for both individuals and families across a broad spectrum," said Dr. Joseph, who began her career with Provena as a physician on staff at Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin. "Because prevention is such an important aspect of staying well, investments we make in our facilities and in new technologies can make all the difference in the health of our communities." In 2008 alone, the Provena Health system re-invested nearly $115 million back into our communities through strategic renovation of facilities and technology enhancement projects that range from assisting with early detection and reducing medical errors to performing minimally invasive surgeries that enhance and shorten the healing process.
"Patients don't just see ventures like these as bricks and mortar," said Dr. Joseph. "They know it's our commitment to providing the very best care possible to all those we are privileged to serve."
From building projects and renovations to the purchase of life-saving equipment such as digital mammography, 64-slice CT scanners, biplane technology, - enhanced medication management, and so much more, Provena Health is providing our communities with the most advanced care. And the commitment does not stop there, as we continue to pursue growth opportunities around our system to better meet the needs of those we serve. Following are examples of investments across the Provena Health system during 2008:
By investing in our ministries, we demonstrate a lasting commitment to our patients and residents to provide them with the very best care and services now and in the future." said Dr. Joseph.
