Computerworld magazine recently honored Provena Home Care as a member of the Computerworld Honors Program Laureates Class of 2007. This program recognizes visionary applications of information technology that promote positive social, economic and educational change.
Provena Home Care was honored in the health care category for its mobile patient information system. To improve efficiency, accuracy of patient and billing information and quality of patient care, the Provena Home Care team implemented a mobile, touch-screen-enabled, digital patient information system and equipped clinicians with notebook computers to record patient assessments, symptoms, care provided and general observations at the point of care.
“The ability to have Point of Care documentation technology, that integrates with our multiple Ministries is vital to ensuring safe, efficient and accurate patient care,” explains Marge Gleason, President and CEO of Provena Home Care. “We are dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care and to being good stewards of our resources, and this technology has helped by streamlining our processes.”
