Danville, IL-- Provena Central Illinois Region, which includes both Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana and Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, announces the appointment of Bob Sarkar to the position of Regional Vice President, Physician Hospital Organization.

Sarkar has more than 15 years of results-driven management experience. He has served the Provena Central Illinois Region since 2002, first as Director of Food and Nutrition for Provena United Samaritans, then as Regional Director in 2005. In addition to his hospitality business experience, Sarkar has served as a consultant in the field of managed health care and evidence-based disease management, both nationally and internationally. He holds an MBA and Masters in Food in Food Sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky.
