Provena Health Opens New Facility on Caton Farm RoadEveryone searches for the most convenient way to provide quality health care for all members of his or her family. During last month’s state of the county address, Will County Executive Joe Mikan revealed Will is the fastest growing county in Illinois and the 10th fastest growing county in the nation. Consequently, the need for convenient, accessible health care is growing just as quickly as the population. That’s why Provena Health recently opened a new medical office building at 7000 Caton Farm Road, near the junction with County Line Road. “As healthcare providers, we are always sensitive for ways to meet the needs of our community,” said Jeff Brickman, president and CEO of the medical center. “Provena Health has developed a facility to which both current and new residents of Plainfield and surrounding communities can bring their families for quality medical care.” The first two doctors to practice out of the new Caton Farm facility are Anthony Fernandez, M.D., and Scott Ciechna, .D. both family physicians who provide medical care to people of all ages. Fernandez earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and recently served as an urgent care physician in Berwyn. He has worked with physicians at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and the Midwest Latino Health Research Center in Chicago, where he researched and helped draft a physicians’ guide to diabetes in minority patients. He has also participated in the International Elective to Cuba, practicing medicine in rural and urban clinics. Ciechna earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University at Springfield School of Medicine and recently completed his family practice residency at the Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine in Springfield. He is certified in pediatric life support, advanced life support and obstetrics. Both Fernandez and Ciechna are family physicians who see patients in the evenings and on Saturdays in addition to regular daytime hours. Open House The new facility held an open house Saturday, Oct. 9. The event provided an opportunity for residents to meet the doctors and see the new facility firsthand. Parents brought their kids to see Scooby Doo and magician Mike Hall, and took part in a mini-health fair and raffle prize drawing. “The Provena Health community is very excited about the new Provena Medical Group at Caton Farm Road,” said Brickman. “I’m confident area residents will welcome the new doctors,” Brickman said. |
