National Nutrition Month

What is National Nutrition Month (NNM)?
NNM, in March each year, is a month long observance of providing sound nutrition education to the public in relation to eating healthy and being physically active.  NNM was originally created in March 1973 as a national nutrition week by the American Dietetic Association, in 1980 NNM expanded to a full month due to public's interest in being healthy.

What is the topic this year?

The topic or theme for 2012 is "Get Your Plate in Shape," which focuses attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.
