Presence Covenant's brand new Blessed Beginnings Birthing Center has arrived! Every last detail from the interior design and overall layout to the kind of equipment available were carefully chosen as a result of a collaboration of past birthing center patients, teams of staff members and physicians.
As as result, the brand new Blessed Beginnings Birthing Center includes:
Six private labor and delivery rooms
14 private post-partum rooms
Two operating rooms dedicated to c-section procedures
Recovery suite
Classroom
Nursery
Special care nursery (NICU)
Welcome center
Family oasis
All of this and more is now located on the same floor and in the same physical area, so you won’t have to leave the birthing center or be too far away from your new baby during your stay.
Home, Suite Home The large, spacious labor and delivery room suites feature spa-like décor complete with hardwood-like floors, comfortable furniture, spacious bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling tiled showers, an oversized bathtub, a flat screen TV and DVD player, a desk with free wireless Internet and a sleeper couch with an extra long, comfortably-sized bed for a support person to stay the night. The soothing colors and soft lines were carefully selected to give a peaceful, serene environment to make moms as comfortable as possible during labor.
Your Care. Your Way. At the Blessed Beginnings Birthing Center, we pride ourselves on making you an active participant in the decisions that affect your care. Working with your doctor, we'll provide the birthing option that best matches your needs. We can accommodate natural birth, requests for epidural anesthesia (available 24 hours a day), c-section procedures and offer hydrotherapy as a labor option. If you plan to breastfeed your new baby and have questions or concerns, our Certified Breastfeeding Educator will meet with you. And if you have any other special requests, just ask, and we'll do what we can to accommodate your needs.
New Beginnings Baby CD Featuring you and your family, the New Beginnings Baby CD is a complimentary collective photo CD of your baby's birth. All moms who deliver at Presence Covenant will be provided with the use of a digital camera and a memory card during their stay to capture all of the emotion and magic that is experienced during the birth of their child. The photos are then put on a CD and sent to their homes. Featuring the breathtaking moments of joy and beauty during the birth of your baby, your photo CD is a gift for you and your family to treasure for years to come.
Intensive Loving Care Sometimes the miracle of life needs a helping hand from the modern world of medicine. And when it does, we're ready with a Level II Plus Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with Extended Capabilities, offering advanced care 24 hours a day. For your peace of mind, we offer the services of a team of neonatologists who are always ready to respond with specialized care for pre-term and sick newborns.
Also, the new birthing center brings the latest, state-of-the-art technologies to Presence Covenant. These new technologies will enhance their ability to care for babies who need a little special help.
For example, the new GE Panda baby warmers have built-in resuscitation capabilities for high risk babies as well as the ability to monitor the baby’s oxygen levels and heart rate without additional equipment. Another new technology feature is the Giraffe OmniBed which is the most advanced and developmentally supportive microenvironment for intensively ill infants. Its full-featured incubator and radiant warmer eliminates the stress of moving critically-ill infants from bed to bed. The Giraffe’s patented Baby Susan rotating mattress facilitates proper positioning of the infant for all types of procedures, minimizing inappropriate patient stimulation and promoting family-centered care.
Family Maternity Classes Even before your baby arrives, we'll help you prepare for the big moment with free classes for you and your family. Whether it's breastfeeding classes for you or classes that prepare dads, siblings - even grandparents - for the big adjustment, you'll get the information you need through a number of free classes. Visiting Hours Your nurse will make arrangements for your family to meet their newest member shortly after he or she arrives. After that, they are welcome to visit anytime between noon and 8 p.m., while friends and extended relatives can drop by anytime between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
