Terence Fitzgerald - Guiness Book of World Records! |

Meet Terence Fitzgerald, PhD, M.S.W
Due to my recent experiences with family members and beloved friends who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, I have decided to raise money and awareness to the cause; especially focusing on underserved women within our Champaign-Urbana community. As I was thinking of what exactly I would do, I was one night watching a documentary of my childhood hero Evil Kenvil. Then it came to me! People love to watch or hear about people doing crazy physical feats. Therefore, after some research and contacting the Guinness Book of Records, gaining a ton of support from Provena Covenant Medical Center and the Refinery in Champaign, I decided to set a record that exemplifies strength and endurance (and psychological issues). Therefore on October 23, 2009, starting at 11:30p.m. at the Refinery (2302 W. John in Champaign) and attempting to lift 300,000lbs of weights (upper body) and 100,000 of leg work, run 15 miles, 25 miles of ecliptic work, bike 120 miles, walk/hike 15 miles(with a 30lbs. pack), 2000 crunches, and row on a stationary machine for 20 miles. All of this will be completed in 19 hours.
Watch Terence Fitzgerald complete his world record in 19 hours at the Provena Health Walk on October 24th from 4-8PM. Donations support the Sr. Mary Gabriel Curby Endowment fund which provides access to healthcare for the poor.
