People who come to the emergency room when stroke symptoms begin have the greatest opportunity for successful recovery. Our quick diagnosis and expert clinical procedures play a key role.
Upon arrival at the Stroke Center , patients are asked when their symptoms began and are given a diagnostic test. If the patient fits within the protocol for stroke, he or she immediately receives a CAT scan, and clot-busting drugs are administered.
Eighty percent of all strokes are preventable, which is why we have made community education and awareness important components of the Stroke Center.
