Cardiac Rehabilitation Program

At Provena Mercy Medical Center, each patient's recovery begins with a comprehensive rehabilitation plan. Our well-known cardiac rehabilitation program combines monitored exercise sessions and educational programs to promote overall heart health.

Rehabilitation at Provena Mercy begins shortly after cardiac surgery or other procedures. Patients who are recovering from cardiac surgery, angioplasty or heart attacks begin their rehabilitation in the hospital.

The second stage of rehabilitation, known as Phase II, is offered at the Sister Rita Heart Center. During Phase II, patients receive continuing education and are monitored during exercise on an outpatient basis.

The cardiac rehabilitation department provides state-of-the-art equipment to help patients regain their strength and confidence in a comfortable setting. Many patients continue to exercise at the Center when their monitored rehabilitation is complete simply because they enjoy the setting and time with friends they’ve made during their recoveries.
