As the region's most
comprehensive provider of mental health services for over 30 years, Provena
Saint Joseph Medical Center is committed to offering a range of mental
services.
Our comprehensive services are very specialized for individuals depending on
their age and level of care needed.
Inpatient Treatment For individuals with mental health problems that
require hospitalization, the 12-bed adolescent inpatient unit or 30-bed adult
inpatient unit both provide safe, nurturing, therapeutic environments.
The goal of inpatient treatment is to stabilize patients who, because of
their mental disorder, are experiencing a severe crisis. Once stable, patients
are returned to their community and outpatient treatment with their psychiatrist
or therapist.
During inpatient treatment, each patient receives a multi-disciplinary
treatment plan to address his or her specific mental health problem. The plan
may include individual and group therapy, family or marital therapy, medication,
school, occupational or recreational therapy, nutritional counseling and
pastoral counseling.
Substance Abuse
Program Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center offers
separate intensive outpatient substance abuse programs for adults and
adolescents, which allows individuals to participate in recovery while living at
home and continuing regular employment or education.
Adults and adolescents currently involved in inpatient programs for other
mental health issues and also require substance abuse treatment can receive
treatment for both conditions simultaneously through a dual diagnosis
program.
Depression and Bipolar
Support Alliance This support group is for people
who experience depression or depression with mania. Meetings are held the second
and fourth Wednesday of each month and are intended to provide education and
encouragement.
