Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center provides critical and
comprehensive neurosurgery coverage to the residents of Will and Grundy
counties. The Medical Center also has a dedicated neurosciences unit,
specialized neurological rehabilitation therapy and case management dealing with
neurology/neuro-surgical cases.

Neuroendovascular Surgery
Our neuroendovascular physicians will be
providing minimally invasive endovascular therapies that access the treatment
area from within the blood vessel. These include coil embolization and stenting;
clot removal and use of micro-catheters for treatment of neurological
conditions; including stroke; and treatment of neurological trauma. Our
Neuroscience Department is an important and growing part of the Medical
Center. We treat central nervous system disorders including head and
spinal cord injuries, epilepsy, strokes, tumors, aneurysms and multiple
sclerosis are diagnosed and treated by our multi-specialty teams. Our
affiliation with the University of Illinois at Chicago allowed us to bring back
24/7 neurosurgery coverage to Will County. We also offer comprehensive
rehabilitation and support groups to ensure a return to functional
lifestyle.
Investment in State-of-the-art
Equipment
The Medical Center has invested in the AXIOM Artis dBA
biplane flat detector angiography system. This system features proven
capabilities in soft-tissue advanced 3-D imaging.
