Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center Restricting Visitors to Older than 12
For the safety of your children, Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center is restricting visitation in the hospital by anyone age 12 and under until further notice. Taking care of the health of children is embedded in our mission.
It is our shared responsibility with parents to safeguard the well being of their children. Based on the advice of our infectious disease physicians and in concurrence with the many hospitals who have now adopted this policy, the medical center will restrict children from visiting patients to avoid exposing this population who are very susceptible to Influenza, seasonal and H1N1.
“We also will enforce use of surgical masks by any visitor exhibiting flu-like symptoms, although we would prefer that the community heed the advice of the CDC and stay home if they are ill,” said Terrence Wright, Vice President, Facilities Planning & Management, Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center.
