Perhaps no one better understands the fears of heart surgery patients and their families than those who have been through surgery themselves. The Saint Joseph Heart Center is proud to host the Joliet chapter of the Mended Hearts, Inc., a national volunteer organization whose primary purpose is offering encouragement to those who are contemplating or have undergone open-heart surgery. Through monthly meetings, the Saint Joseph Mended Hearts chapter provides ongoing support and education for heart patients and their families. Mended Hearts meets the third Monday of each month from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Medical Center. Each meeting includes an educational program. Anyone is welcome to attend.
