Dr. Kolla Education/Training:

  • RESIDENCY - Mt. Sinai Hospital Family Practice
  • MD - UTESA Family Practice

About Dr. Kolla:
Dr. Kolla's family inspired him to want to become a physician.  He chose family practice because he enjoys having direct patient care and the ability to follow his patients closely. He helps his patients set realistic goals so they can begin to improve on their health. "I try to instill in my patients to take "small steps" toward better health.  This approach gives them hope that they can achieve their goals"

Dr. Kolla is a beginning golfer and said he is taking "small steps" toward improving his game.  There is not as much time to practice these days, Dr. Kolla and his wife welcomed a son into their family in January 2009.  Spending time with his family and being there for his patients keep him very busy...and he wouldn't want it any other way!

Rich Browne Education/Training:

  • National Academy on Certification of Physician Assistants, Physician Assistant-Certified in Primary Care and Surgery
  • University of Texas Medical Branch, B.S. Physician Assistant Studies

What is a PA-C? Physician assistant (PA): A physician assistant (PA-C) is a mid-level medical practitioner who works under the supervision of a licensed doctor (an MD) or osteopathic physician (a DO).

Today the term "physician assistant" has a more precise definition as it applies to the mid-level practitioner who is able to practice medicine under the auspices of a licensed physician. Although the physician need not be present during the time the PA performs his or her duties, there must be a method of contact between the supervising physician and the PA at all times. The PA must be competent in the duties he or she is performing and the physician for whom the PA is working must also be licensed and trained to perform the relevant duties.

PA training programs are accredited by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Each state in the U.S. has its own specific licensing and practicing restrictions for PAs. Most states require PAs to pass the certification examination of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

About Rich Browne:
Rich chose to become a Physician Assistant as it allows him to have his practice during the day and his evenings free to spend time with his family.  Rich is married and the proud father of three boys who keep him extremely busy with all of their activities.

"My philosophy of care is 'slow and steady'. When patients have complicated medical issues, it is important to take the time and give the patient the attention and patience they deserve".  Rich enjoys when he runs into a patient out in the community and they come up him to thank him for helping them.  "My patients positive feelings towards me means so much and I love what I do" says Rich.
