2009 Festival of Trees
    Email to a Friend

Thank you to everyone who attended the five-day 2009 Festival of Trees: Rejoice!  We are proud to announce that the Festival of Trees has been named the Best Special Event in Danville by Neuhoff Broadcasting for the 9th year in a row!

Take a look at the wonderful art projects created by local high school students as part of the first ever I Sing the Body Electric Showcase at the Festival!

Check out this fantastic video of the Festival produced by The News-Gazette* and the University of Illinois Journalism Department!

Congratulations to all of our Raffle House Winners!--see a complete list of silent auction and raffle prize recipients.

Congratulations also to our Pickle Day winners:  Kendell Arseneau, Rosie Zarati-Diaz, Jodi Powell, Ben Winn, Christina Jackson, and Gage (no last name).

Proceeds from the Festival of Trees fund the Provena United Samaritans Medical Center Foundation outreach programs that give back to the greater Danville community.

For example, in 2009, the HALO Project painted houses, stocked food pantry shelves, collected school supplies, brought dental care to the needy, and educated kids through the Body Walk, just to name a few projects.  I Sing the Body Electric has been recognized on the state and national level for its three phase arts and health education/prevention program that focuses on teenagers in Vermilion County.  Faith In Action and FIA South provided much needed services for senior citizens, including transportation to appointments, leaf-raking, home safety checks and wheelchair ramps.  And programs like Young Women and Young Men Aware continue to help our youth make smart choices and assist them in their development to be leaders of the future.

Thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors, designers, volunteers and the entire community for continuing to support this wonderful event and believing in our mission.
