CoC accreditation challenges cancer programs to enhance the care they provide by addressing patient-centered needs and measuring the quality of the care they deliver against national standards. Our physicians are board-certified and our nurses are certified by the Oncology Nursing Society

Each year, our cancer program compares data on performance measures to hospitals throughout Illinois and to other Commission on Cancer-accredited programs across the nation.  These evidence-based, rigorously developed CoC quality measures help us to evaluate the impact of our outcomes and ultimately continue to improve the care we provide.  Read our annual outcomes report.

Clinical trials & research
We recognize the importance of continued research in order to find a cure for cancer in our lifetime.  Our center participats in national patient registries by sharing our patient data, tissue, and PET scans in order to contribute to the development of new treatments.  We also provide information and education about new cancer-related clinical trials and assist with referring patients to programs that are conducting these efforts.
